Using SSDHero
You may use the website and app for your own personal or internal business purposes, subject to the applicable App Store terms and these terms. You are responsible for keeping backups and for using the app in a way that follows applicable law.
SSDHero is a free Mac App Store download with a 14-day free trial. After the trial, a one-time in-app purchase unlocks it for good; there is no subscription. Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store’s terms.
You may not misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorized access to a service, or present an SSDHero report as a guarantee or professional certification.
Health information
SSDHero’s scores, forecasts, alerts, explanations, and recommendations are estimates derived from available drive and Mac information. They are provided to help you make better-informed decisions, not to replace backups, manufacturer support, or qualified technical advice.
Forecasts are ranges rather than promises. A healthy reading does not mean a drive cannot fail, and a warning does not predict the exact time of failure.
Reports you share
A Health report, a Disk Health snapshot or a benchmark result is a record of what the drive reported to SSDHero on that date. It is not a certification, it is not signed, and it does not prove who owns a Mac or a drive.
You are responsible for reviewing a report before you share it, and for having the right to share what it contains.
Availability and limits
The website and app are provided as they are available. We may change, pause, or discontinue a feature. Compatibility depends on the Mac, macOS version, drive, enclosure, and permissions available to the app. Reading a USB drive’s health needs macOS 27. Many drives are read through macOS while they stay mounted; others are handed to SSDHero once, and a check then unmounts them for a few seconds. SSDHero never forces an unmount.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, SSDHero and its creator are not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from reliance on an estimate or from a drive failure. Nothing here excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
